New Camera and Date Night Ideas

“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions” ~ Dalai Lama

First of all, welcome to Lydia on Life

Even thought I’m 2 weeks late I finally did it. After comparing the three cameras in my last post I finally made a choice and bought one on Wednesday. Can I have a drum roll please…

The winner was Canon EOS M3!

Why did I choose this one out of the three?

For me, the deciding factor was the pixel size, longevity and access to features. The screen is touch screen so I can auto-focus easily and Canon is know for having quality cameras amongst enthusiast photographer. I’ve heard that the Sony cameras tend to heat up after long use which was something I couldn’t deal with. I plan to do a lot with this camera so I’m going to need it to last a while without over heat.

So, what kind of stuff will I be doing?

Well, in my pursuit of a life well lived, I’ve been creating a list of things to do in and around London. The list started off as something K (yup I’m talking about him again) and I could do since we want to make our date nights/day more interesting. However I plan to use this list for dates with friends, family and of course K.

Here’s my ever growing list (in no particular order):

Indoor Activities Out-door Activities
  • Golf
  • Cabaret Show
  • In-door Go Karting
  • Wine Tasting
  • Bowling
  • Spa Day
  • Rock Climbing
  • Theatre
  • Food Making
  • Circus
  • Science Museum
  • Art Gallery
  • Jazz Café
  • Afternoon tea
  • Natural History Museum
  • Aquarium
  • Cocktail Bar
  • Arcade (With a bar)
  • Dance Classes
  • Comedy Show
  • Electric Cinema
  • Pottery Class
  • Themes Cruise
  • Helicopter Tour
  • Out-door Go Karting
  • Rooftop Cinema
  • Drive-thru Cinema
  • Festival
  • Amusement Park
  • Open Top Bus Tour
  • Football Match
  • High Ropes Adventure
  • Driving Experience
  • Air Balloon
  • London Eye
  • Tower of London
  • London Zoo
  • Walk around London

Some of these activities (like bowling and comedy show) we’ve done but we’ve either not done them together or haven’t captured those memories.

I tend to avoid pictures because I feel a little uncomfortable in front of the camera. I haven’t found my angle yet and always put this pressure on myself to get the perfect picture. It’s silly I know but it’s something I’m trying to work on this year. I just want pose, click and go without the need of wanting to re-take it 500 times.

Our first activity from my list is the Natural History Museum. Nothing fancy…yet. We plan to go next Tuesday and hopefully continue to add and cross more things off the list as the year(s) go on. We’ll see how it goes.

The list isn’t limited to just London but we have to start somewhere, right? While I find and plan stuff for us to do, his job is to find and plan places for us to eat. Timout London, Wowcher and Groupon are going to become our best friends.

I hope to have a post out soon on places to go for these activities once we find them.

Wish us luck!

Question Time…

Do you have any activities to add to the list? Any website you can recommend for good deals and ideas?

Let me know in the comments below.
